Welcome to The Louisiana, at home! You might not have all the tools, bibs and bits ready at hand like we do in the restaurant, but please allow us to give you some tips:

“If the only tool you have is a hammer, it’s hard to eat spaghetti”

Lobster, and in particular the claws, can be pretty challenging to crack without the right equipment. Fortunately, you probably own a hammer, so swiftly dig it out of the toolshed and get to work! Give the claws a good wack and break them open with your hands, you can now peel out the delicious meat with a fork.

A tip to use a fork to eat your food may seem like a dead giveaway, but hold on.. when it comes to consuming lobster or crab you have to flip and reverse it! How? After you cracked the hard bits open with a hammer (or another blunt object) just turn your fork the other way around and dig into the shell to scoop out the goodness.

Ready to cut crab? Make sure to have a pair of scissors at hand. While a hammer is the best way to crack open hard shells, the ultimate trick to expose the flavor out of crustaceans with softer skin, like crab legs, is to just cut them open lengthwise.

Let’s be honest, it’s gonna make a mess. Use this pro tip to clean it up easily, while adding to the Lobstershack atmosphere! Just fold out yesterday’s newspaper on the dining table and chuck the food right on top of it. Grab the tools as we showed you, use your hands to do rest and enjoy with all your heart. When you’re ready, gather all that is left in one big package and bin it.
